Pruning isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s a foundational tool for developing strong structure, managing size, and preventing future issues like limb failure or clearance conflicts with buildings, signage, and walkways. Early and intentional pruning can guide small trees into forms that are both beautiful and functional in tight urban spaces. This session will focus on the increasingly important practice of pruning small trees with intentions, especially in urban and suburban environments where space, safety, and aesthetics all play a critical role in plant selection and maintenance.
