This hands-on, seasonal gardening workshop is designed to inspire and educate attendees on the art of creating eye-catching container gardens for the fall. If you are a garden center professional looking for new container combination ideas for display or want to teach your customers ways to be successful with container gardening, this session is for you.
The program will focus on selecting the right plants, colors, and design techniques to create stylish and sustainable containers that thrive for the season.
Participants will learn about:
- Choosing fall-hardy plants
- Principles of design such as balance, contrast, texture, and height (“thriller, filler, spiller” method).
- Tips on soil composition, drainage, and container selection.
- Maintenance practices to keep containers looking vibrant throughout the fall season.
Ideal for both beginners and experienced gardeners, this session will include live demonstrations and Q&A opportunities with expert garden designers. Attendees will leave with a “make and take” masterpiece along with the confidence to build fall container gardens to merchandise in their garden centers or jobs.
